Different options for you in family law matters

There are different ways to approach your legal problems, particularly separation. The approach which you choose can have an effect upon your children and whole family. Sometimes, the traditional solicitor/court approach is best but sometimes mediation or collaborative law is better. These are newer approaches which are both growing in popularity. You may prefer to decide with your former partner how to deal with matters arising from your separation, or that may not be appropriate in your circumstances.

If you wish to use mediation or collaboration, then your partner must agree to that.

Legal aid is available for mediation but not for collaboration.
